Who we are

This policy describes how Cosmic Century Living (“we,” “us”) handles information when you visit cosmiccenturyliving.com (the “site”) or join our email list. The site is a blog and content site. We do not run a shop, user accounts, or paid checkout on this site.

Privacy requests: [Admin]

Information we collect

We keep this light. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell anything here.

  • Email list (Kit). If you use a signup form on the site, the form is provided by Kit (kit.com, formerly ConvertKit). We typically receive the email address you submit, and your name if the form asks for it. Kit may also receive technical details connected to that signup, such as IP address, browser type, and the page you signed up from, so it can deliver the form, prevent abuse, and send the messages you asked for.
  • Messages you send us. If you email us or use a contact form, we receive whatever you include: your email address, name if you give one, and the contents of the message. Mail sent to admin@atlasandjane.com is read by us for this site as well.
  • Site stats (Jetpack). The site uses Jetpack, made by Automattic. Jetpack Stats and related WordPress.com features may record page views, referring URLs, general location derived from IP address (such as country), browser and device type, and the time of the visit. Jetpack may set cookies used for stats and site features. Details are in Automattic’s notices, linked below.
  • Server and security logs. Our host and WordPress may keep standard logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) to run the site and block abuse.
  • Embedded media. Posts may include Flickr galleries, YouTube videos, Instagram posts, or similar embeds. Those services can set their own cookies and collect usage data, such as IP address, browser type, and the page the embed was loaded from, under their policies once the embed loads. We do not control that collection. A plain image file hosted on Flickr (a direct picture link, rather than an embedded gallery) may still cause your browser to request the file from Flickr.

We do not knowingly use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or similar extra trackers on this site. If that changes, we will update this page.

How we use information

  • To send the emails you signed up for, and to manage that list (including unsubscribes).
  • To reply if you contact us.
  • To understand which pages are read, fix problems, and keep the site secure.
  • To meet legal duties if we are required to.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with other brands for their own marketing.

Who else handles it

We use a few services to run the site. They process information only to provide those services:

Some of these companies are in the United States and may store data there, or in other countries where they operate.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files a site or embedded service stores on your browser. This site may set:

  • WordPress cookies needed to run the site (for example, a test cookie, or a cookie if a post is password-protected).
  • Jetpack cookies used for statistics and Jetpack features. Common Jetpack analytics cookies include ones such as tk_ai, which stores a random identifier used for stats.
  • Cookies from Flickr, YouTube, Instagram, or other embeds, if those embeds load.
  • Cookies from Kit, if a Kit form is embedded and Kit sets them to operate the form.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site should still be readable. Embedded videos and the signup form may work less smoothly.

How long we keep it

We keep email-list details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them, and for a short period after that if we need it to confirm the request or meet a legal duty. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to handle the conversation. Jetpack and our host keep stats and logs on their own schedules. Automattic describes Jetpack retention here: jetpack.com/support/jetpack-data-retention-for-plan-offerings.

Your choices

  • Email. Every Kit email should include an unsubscribe link. You can also email [Admin] and ask to be removed.
  • Access or deletion. Email us and ask for a copy of the list data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. We may need to confirm it is you. Kit is the system that stores subscriber records; we will remove you there when you ask.
  • California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the California Consumer Privacy Act. You may ask us to disclose or delete personal information we hold, and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
  • Other regions. If you are in the UK, EEA, or somewhere with similar rules, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of your information, and to complain to a local authority. Kit offers tools we can use to record email consent where that is required.

Children

The site is written for a general audience, not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us an email address, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who we share it with, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
